KILock — KNX Interface to Lock

About the KILock

The KILock (ZITKIL) is the Zennio KNX interface to the electronic lock of a hotel room[1]. It talks to the lock both ways over 2.4 GHz radio[1][2]: to Vingcard over Zigbee and, from application program 2.0, to Onity over Bluetooth Low Energy[2]. With Onity it also controls the lock from KNX: Do Not Disturb and the room status on the lock LEDs, never the bolt[2]. One interface serves one lock[1]; via the KILock Server, lock events also reach the lock system server[2].

It takes 1 DIN unit, runs on bus power (9.5 mA at 29 V, 12.5 mA at 24 V worst case), operates from 0 to +55 °C and supports KNX Data Secure[1]. The radio range of up to 35 m depends on conditions, device orientation and surrounding materials[1].

A lost link shows at once: the PAIR LED of a paired interface blinks green[1], and ETS can add a one-bit communication error alarm with selectable polarity[2]. The first heartbeat after a download or bus failure is delayed by up to 255 seconds, and optional Device Recovery objects send 0 and 1 at every start[2]. A KNX Secure factory reset needs safe mode first: keep the programming button pressed while connecting the device to the bus, then press it for 10 seconds until the LED changes[1].
