About the NarrowDIM X4

The NarrowDIM X4 (ZDINDX4) is a Zennio four-channel universal KNX dimmer for DIN rail, 4.5 DIN units and 67 × 90 × 79 mm^[1]. It handles resistive, inductive and capacitive loads as well as dimmable LED lamps and CFLs; it can detect the type of a conventional load itself, and for LED and CFL a dimming pattern and leading- or trailing-edge mode are selected^[1]^[2].

The rated 210 W per channel, 400 W on a double channel and 750 W on a quadruple channel at 230 V AC apply at 35 °C around the device; for leading-edge LED and CFL loads the maximum may change with the load type^[1]. The operating temperature is 0 to +40 °C^[1]. At 73–75 °C inside the housing the channels drop to 20% and stay there until the device cools below 65 °C^[2].

One channel must not mix capacitive with inductive loads, nor LED or CFL lamps with each other or with conventional lamps; mixed with L or C, the resistive part must stay below half of the total^[2]. The solid-state outputs are protected against short circuit and overload, and overheating, supply failure, voltage surge, short circuit, anomalous frequency and parameter errors show up as blinking channel LEDs^[1]. The power input is wired to 110–230 V AC mains; a 10 A breaker is recommended^[1].
