About the ShutterBOX Drive

The ShutterBOX Drive 2CH, 4CH, 6CH and 8CH (ZIOSHD2, ZIOSHD4, ZIOSHD6, ZIOSHD8) are Zennio KNX shutter actuators that measure the rise and fall times themselves from the motor current; this works with AC-powered shutters only^[1]. The 2, 4, 6 or 8 channels run on 4, 8, 12 or 16 relays, and the housing width in DIN units equals the number of channels^[2][3][4][5].

The measurement takes three steps: the shutter travels to the top, runs down to the lower end of stroke and back up, while the device detects the end of travel through the current and saves both times^[6]. Until times are saved, the first movement command other than an alarm starts the measurement; the times survive a new download of the same application version^[6].

The relays are rated 8(4) A at 250 V AC, the terminals take 0.5–2.5 mm² wire, and an 8 A breaker is recommended^[5]. A motor with three dry contacts is wired to a channel plus one individual stop output, and only one such output is allowed per channel^[3][2]. The device also has sun tracking, a switch counter for every relay, KNX Data Secure and 20 logic functions^[2][4]. Motors and tracks are not part of the Zennio range and are sourced from the blind supplier.
