About the BIN-T

The BIN-T 2X, 4X, 6X and 8X (ZIOBINT2, ZIOBINT4, ZIOBINT6, ZIOBINT8) are small Zennio KNX universal interfaces measuring 39 × 39 × 13.6 mm; the datasheet gives a wall back box or a distribution box for mounting^[1]. Each of the 2, 4, 6 or 8 channels is a binary input for a push button or contact, an LED output or a solid-state relay control output; a separate probe input and a thermostat complete the set^[1].

A channel output gives up to 12 V DC and 2 mA, enough for the indicator built into many push buttons and switches or for a low-current relay such as a heating relay^[2]. A push button and an output must not share a channel^[1]. The channels come out on the supplied 30 cm lead, one wire per channel plus a common; a line can be extended to 30 m with 1 mm² wire, and Zennio push buttons connect regardless of the permitted cross-section^[1].

The probe is a Zennio one or an NTC with known resistance at three points of the −55 to 150 °C range; with Zennio probes the accuracy is ±0.5 °C^[1]. Bus current at 29 V ranges from 6.8 mA (2X) to 14.6 mA (8X)^[1]. The BIN-T datasheet lists no PT1000, Ni1000 or motion sensors; the QUAD v3 takes them^[3].
