About the QUAD v3

The QUAD v3 (ZIOQUADV3) is a Zennio KNX module with 4 analogue-digital inputs measuring 39.1 × 39.1 × 14 mm; its manual calls it an updated, smaller version of the QUAD Plus^[1][2]. It goes into a wall back box or a distribution box, and the feature list adds DIN rail^[1]. Power comes from the bus, 4.8 mA at 29 V^[1].

Any input is set independently as a binary, temperature or motion sensor input. A temperature input takes a Zennio probe, an NTC with a custom curve, a PT1000 or a Ni1000; for the last two the cable length and cross-section are entered in ETS to compensate its resistance^[1]. Up to two motion sensors share one input in parallel^[1]. Every input has its own indicator, which flashes on a fault or tampering of the line^[1].

A binary input also serves a pulse meter: the objects report the pulse count, energy in Wh and kWh, power, volume and flow^[2]. Besides the inputs, the module has 4 thermostats and 10 logic functions, with KNX Data Secure for communication^[1][2]. The cable from an input to its contact or probe may be up to 30 m, and two inputs share each common wire^[1].
