About the DALI BOX Interface 64

The DALI BOX Interface 64 units are addressable Zennio gateways between KNX and DALI for the distribution panel. The X2 runs two independent DALI channels, the v3 one; each channel takes up to 64 ballasts and up to 16 DALI-2 input devices^[1][2]. A luminaire is controlled on its own, in a group (up to 16 per channel) or with the whole channel, and each channel has 64 scenes and 16 sequences^[3]. The gateway is a Multi-Master DALI-2 controller, so no second application controller may sit on the same DALI bus^[3].

The DALI bus supply is built in^[3], and the gateway itself is connected to 110–240 V AC mains. Each channel guarantees 200 mA: every ballast takes 2 mA of it and the rest goes to input devices, for which Zennio recommends no more than 125 mA; the bus cable runs up to 300 m at 1.5 mm²^[1][2].

The gateways run function and duration tests of DT1 emergency ballasts, control DT8 colour ballasts, HCL mode included, and read power and energy from DT51 ballasts^[3]. For commissioning and notifications the housing carries a 1.54-inch display of 128 × 64 pixels^[1][2]. Besides the channel count, the models differ in security: per the manual's feature table, the X2 has KNX Security and the v3 does not^[3].
