Linecoupler — KNX Linecoupler

About the Linecoupler

The Linecoupler (ZSYLC) is the Zennio coupler for KNX twisted-pair lines, TP to TP: in ETS it is set up as an area, line or segment coupler[1]. The housing takes 1 DIN unit, 67 × 90 × 17.5 mm, and the device is powered from the bus with no additional supply; it draws 3.9 mA on the main side and 2.6 mA on the secondary side at 29 V[2].

If the main line loses voltage, the coupler is unpowered: no telegrams pass and ETS cannot reach it. If the secondary line loses voltage, routing stops as well, but as long as the main line is live the coupler can still be programmed[1].

The Main and Sub LEDs show each line's supply and traffic and blink red on a transmission error[2]. The Mode LED is green in segment coupler mode and yellow once a Pass button is pressed: slow blink for Pass GA, fast for Pass IA, steady for both; it does not reflect the ETS parameters[1]. With manual control enabled in ETS, Pass IA lets through all telegrams to individual addresses and Pass GA all telegrams to group addresses, for the time set in ETS or until pressed again[1]. KNX Data Secure and Security Proxy are supported[2]; the Proxy needs ETS6, and ETS5 uses a separate application program[1].
