ZennIoT — Device for remote control with Zennio Remote that also works as a programming interface

About the ZennIoT

The ZennIoT (ZSYIOT) is a Zennio DIN-rail module that combines a remote control gateway for the Zennio Remote app with a KNX-IP interface for ETS: 10 KNXnet/IP tunnelling connections and APDUs of up to 254 bytes[1]; the RemoteBOX has no such interface[2]. Both KNX Data Secure and KNX IP Secure are supported[1].

One microcontroller runs the bus, the application and the firmware, and the module needs both the KNX bus and an external 24–29 V DC supply, drawing up to 47 mA at 24 V and 40 mA at 29 V[2][1]. It has RJ45 10/100 Ethernet and takes 2 DIN units[1]. Firmware is loaded over the network from a Windows PC with the bundled adapter; without an application download it can only be upgraded, and a downgrade needs the application program too[2].

Four LEDs show the bus link, the IP address, the server connection with the Remote licence and whether application and firmware match; the module is reachable only when all four are green[2]. After the first start-up an EULA appears: the end user must accept it, so commissioning postpones it, and it returns after two hours or a power failure[2]. The basic remote control licence (100 controls) is included, an extra one raises the count to 240[2][3]; ZenVoice has its own licence and also needs the remote control licence[1][2].
