ZENNIO Remote Control: section overview
This section holds RemoteBOX and ZennIoT for remote control of a KNX installation through the Zennio Remote app; expansion licences to 180 and to 240 controls, in virtual and boxed versions, are in the “Mounting and accessories” list under the grid. ZennIoT combines remote access through Zennio Remote with a KNX-IP interface (up to 10 tunnelling connections), supports KNX Data Secure and KNX IP Secure and runs on 24–29 VDC. According to the Zennio catalogue, RemoteBOX includes 100 control and indication objects, and up to 240 with the licence. Lighting, climate, blinds and scenes are available from a smartphone away from home. For the specification: RemoteBOX mounts on a DIN rail (2 units), needs an external 24–29 VDC supply and an Ethernet connection (RJ45, 10/100 Mbps), supports KNX Data Secure and works with ZenVoice voice control under licence. It suits both existing and new KNX installations and complements, rather than replaces, local control from panels and switches: local functions keep working if the internet goes down.
Frequently asked questions
How many functions can RemoteBOX serve?
According to the Zennio catalogue, the base device includes 100 control and indication objects, and up to 240 with the expansion licence. The licence comes in virtual and boxed versions.
What happens if the internet connection drops?
Local control from panels and switches keeps working in full — RemoteBOX is only responsible for remote smartphone access. It reaches the server over Ethernet, and a dedicated LED on the housing shows the connection status.
