About the MAXinBOX 16 v4

The MAXinBOX 16 v4 (ZIOMB16V4) is a Zennio KNX relay actuator with 16 outputs for DIN rail; its 67 × 90 × 140 mm housing takes 8 DIN units^[1]. The outputs are grouped into four configurable blocks that give up to 16 individual loads, 8 shutter channels or 4 two-pipe fan coils^[1]. KNX Data Secure, 20 logic functions and two Master Light controls are built in^[1].

Each output is a bistable relay with a tungsten pre-contact rated 16 A at 250 V AC or 7 A at 30 V DC; inrush is up to 800 A for 200 µs or 165 A for 20 ms, capacitive load up to 140 µF^[1]. Adjacent outputs may sit on different phases, a block carries up to 40 A, and SELV and non-SELV circuits must not share one^[1].

With no short-circuit or overload protection on the outputs, the installation needs an all-pole disconnecting device; the datasheet recommends a 16 A breaker^[1]. The actuator draws 4.05 mA from the bus at 29 V; connect the bus before energising the power circuit so the relays start in the expected state^[1]. On a bus failure shutter channels stop and individual outputs take the state set in ETS^[2]. Output-only MAXinBOX models in the Zennio manual range from the MAXinBOX 8 v4 to the MAXinBOX 24 v2^[2][3][4].
