About the IP Router
The IP Router (ZSYIPR) is the Zennio KNX IP router: it joins a KNX TP line to a KNX IP network, IP being the main line and TP the secondary[1]. Its individual address in ETS must match the role: X.0.0 area coupler, X.Y.0 line coupler, X.Y.Z segment coupler[1]. It is powered from its TP line; if the IP link is lost, it stops routing and signals this on the IP LED[1].
ETS connects through it too: 10 simultaneous tunnels, each with its own individual address on the TP line, plus a direct connection for programming the router itself[1]; the KIPI SC interface has five[2]. Data Security protects the telegrams addressed to the router, IP Security the tunnels and the multicast routing between IP routers[1].
Out of the box it routes without programming: address 15.15.0, multicast group 224.0.23.12 and IP from DHCP, and without a DHCP server routing continues over multicast[1]. Safe mode starts when the router is powered with the programming button held, or by itself after three malfunction restarts less than 10 seconds apart; it stops routing but still accepts a tunnelling connection[1]. Only there does a 10-second press restore the factory state, erasing the parameters and KNX Security but keeping the individual address; elsewhere no manual reset is possible, which rules out accidental ones[1].
